Grade 11 Get PSAT/NMSQT Ready!

• All current 11th Graders are automatically registered and eligible to take the School Day PSAT
• Students will test in groups according to the first letter of their last name (see schedule below)
• Students have the opportunity to take the free PSAT/NMSQT test at Ballard HS. It is not required. Students not wishing to test will stay home on this day. Attendance will be taken and students who are not here will be marked absent unexcused unless a parent or guardian has excused them.

Students! Plan to arrive between 8:30 – 9:00 a.m. for morning exam check-in, and between 12:30 – 1:00 p.m. for afternoon exam check-in. Students arriving after the start of the exam will not be admitted to the Aux Gym.

Important PSAT Testing Details

Students Need To Bring

• Photo ID
• Fully charged District-issued laptop (students will not be allowed to test with a personal device)
• Power cord and/or a portable charger. (No guarantee you’ll have access to an outlet during testing. Your device should be able to hold a charge for 3-4 hours)
• Pencil or pen
• Acceptable graphing calculator (There is a graphing calculator built into the digital PSAT exam, but you can bring your own.)

Please Note

• Students cannot be dismissed early.
  • Morning Exams should end between 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. After the test, students are expected to attend their afternoon classes.
  • Afternoon Exams should end by 3:40 p.m. and students are expected to attend their morning classes. 
  • Students will automatically be excused for the window of their actual test. Parents/Guardians do not need to call in absences for PSAT testing.
  • Students who test in the morning time slot will be excused for Periods 1-3 and students testing in the afternoon time slot will be excused for Periods 4-6. Students testing on Wed. morning will be excused for Periods 1-4.

*Students with Approved Accommodations

Students testing with accommodations approved by the College Board will test the week of October 13, 2025 in the Counseling Center, P104 and P105. (Schedule and locations to be determined based on number of students using their accommodations). Test coordinator, Katie Huguenin, will reach out directly with specific dates/times by September 29, 2025.

Make-Up PSAT Exam

There will be a make-up exam opportunity for the PSAT. Date and time to be determined based on need. Make-ups will be limited, so please contact Katie Huguenin; (kwhuguenin@seattleschools.org) if you want to be added to the make-up list.
