  • Finals Info for Feb 7, & 8. Refer to the BHS Bell Schedule page.
  • Applications are available for the Golden Beaver Scholarships in the Counseling Center or can be downloaded from the BHS website. Due date is March 10.
  • February 6-10 AND Feb 13-17: SPS and Ballard HS will be celebrating Black Lives Matter Week in Schools. With students will completing finals in some classes and the start of the second semester, we are extending our focus with this work to also include the week of February 13-17. We dedicate this time to honor and celebrate Black Excellence, we recognize that this work cannot be limited to a week or a month, for Black Lives Matter every day of the year. The goal of Black Lives Matter at School is to spark an ongoing movement of critical reflection and honest conversation and impactful actions in school communities for people of all ages to engage with issues of racial justice.
  • Feb 10: Winter Ball at the Seattle Art Museum Fri, Feb 10 from 8-11 p.m.
  • Feb 13: Career Connected Learning is hosting a career pathway discussion about Boeing Internships in Advanced Manufacturing on February 13, 2023- 1 and 6 Periods in Mr. Martin’s room. All BHS students are invited to hear Shoreline College guest speaker Wanda Waldrop. Questions, or to receive a pass to attend email
  • Feb 13: If you’d like to participate in a Spring sport, paperwork and registration are due by Feb 13, and the season begins on Feb 27.  All paperwork should be completed online through FinalForms.  See Ms. Nielcen in the main office if you have any questions.
  • Feb 16: Tennis team Pre-Season meeting on February 16 at 4pm in the Commons.
  • March 5: The Loyal Heights Community Center is looking for student volunteers for their Pancake Breakfast to be held on March 5, 2023 at 2101 NW 77th St. Seattle. Please contact them at 206-684-4052 if you are interested in earning Service Learning Hours.
  • BHS Sophomores & Juniors Running Start Info Sessions in March: The school counselors will hold Running Start info sessions – The first four Thursdays in March: 2, 9, 16, 23, during the first half of lunch 11:50 – 12:20 for current 10th and 11th graders if they are interested in learning more about the Running Start Program for the 2023-2024 school year. Interested students just need to attend one session. 


  • The gymnastics team wrapped up an undefeated season on Friday vs Roosevelt, Nathan Hale, and Lincoln. Alex B. won vault, bars, floor, and all around. Brooke A. won beam and was 3rd on vault and 2nd all around. Caitlyn Adkins was 2nd on bars and 3rd on beam, and Justene L. was 3rd on bars.
  • Swimming Coach Kyle Morean was honored by his fellow coaches as the Metro League Coach of Year. He shares that award with his incredible volunteer coaching staff Tom and Tui and all the volunteer parents who help to host and create a welcoming community for all of our home competitions this season.
    • 10 swimmers advanced on to the District competition that will happen at Mary Wayte pool in Mercer Island this Friday and Saturday. Kian V., Kyle C., Finn K., Evan M., Leonard P., Matteo M., Tristan O., James L., Nathan W., Jack E., Jesse H. & Branson G.
  • Congratulate the Ballard Boys Swim & Dive team who competed at the Metro League Championships this past Friday and Saturday. The team scored 8th of 15 teams overall in the competition with all 28 members of the team competing. Highlights include: 8the place to the Medley relay team who swam their personal best both days in a row and now hold the 2nd and 3rd fastest times in Ballard history. They are going for the school record this coming Friday!
    • Kyle C. who placed 9th in the 200 Free and 8th in the 100 Fly
    • Tristan O. who placed 17th in the 200 free & 12th in the 500 free
    • Nathan W. who placed 11th in the 200 IM & 23rd in the 100 free
    • Evan M. who placed 12th in the 50 free and 8th in the 100 breast
    • Clay S. who placed 6th in Diving (medalist!)
    • Kian V. who placed 17th in the 50 free and 12th  in the 100 Back (which he is closing in on a school record!)
    • Finn K. who placed 23rd in the 100 fly and 27th  in the 50 free
    • Matteo M. who placed 15th in the 200 IM and 25th in the 100 Free 400 Free Relay Team (Kian Kyle Nathan & Matteo) who placed 5th and medaled.

Beaver Gear and Spirit Wear Breakdown

  • Athletic Booster Club (ABC) has Beaver Gear and spirit wear (shorts, baseball tee, bleacher seats, plaid flannels, socks, scarf and hats) on the ABC website with Duffle Bags offered at different times of the school year. Refer to the Spirit Wear updates.
  • Now Open!The DAM” BHS Student Store is run by Advanced Marketing Students in the BHS Activity Center (AC) during lunch and has great spirit items (long & short sleeve t-shirts, hoodies, hats, sunglasses, etc.) Follow updates on Instagram: @thedambhsstudentstore
  • Performing Arts (BPA) spirit merchandise can be found on the BPA Website and offered at different times of the school year.
  • Athletics! Check with coaches about specific Athletics/Sports Merchandise
