- Due March 25: Ballard Performing Arts Spring One Acts. These plays will be student-written and student-directed! You can submit a play and apply to be a student director, as well as audition! For playwrights: we are looking for short plays, between 5-10 pages. Around the school you will see QR codes to a brief application to submit a play or director. All play and director submissions are due March 25 at 4 p.m., so get writing! Students of any grade level and any experience level can apply. Audition information will be posted shortly! If you have any questions, or need an extension on the deadline, please see Ms. Miller.
- March 29: National Honor Society is partnering with Bloodworks Northwest to host another Blood Drive here at Ballard for students 16 and older! The Blood Drive is Friday, March 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Aux Gym. Save lives and sign up to donate in Mr. Feise’s room. Learn More About Club Events.
- Rising Juniors and Seniors: Do you want to make your voice heard? Do you want to make sure that the Seattle School Board is representing the real needs and experiences of the Seattle Public School students? If so, apply to be a School Board Student Member! Applications are open now and due April 10. More information is on the SPS website.
- BHS Grades 9 – 11! ASB Elections! There are 22 positions for the 24-25 school year. Packets are available in the Main Office, ELA classrooms, SW100. Learn more about the BHS ASB on our webpage. - March 22, 23, 24: The winter musical, The Addams Family Musical! Over 50 students are involved in the cast, crew, and pit orchestra. The show features all your favorite Addams Family members, along with some kooky new additions. Come join us for a creepy, spooky time that is sure to make you laugh. Learn more.
- Juniors! College some visits are back! Please visit Naviance to see which college admissions reps are scheduled to come and sign up for a visit! See Ms. Bristol in the Counseling Center if you have questions.
- Grades 10 & 11 Running Start Info: The school counselors will hold Running Start Info sessions—Wed in March: 20, 27, during the first half of lunch 12:05 – 12:40 p.m. for current 10th and 11th graders if interested for the 24-25 school year. All sessions will cover the same information. We will meet in Rm. S217 for a presentation and Q & A.

ASB Club Call Outs!

- Congratulations to BHS Health Occupation Students of America) HOSA Future Health Professionals for participating in this year’s State Competition, and to Ethan Li for placing 2nd in the Dental Sciences competitive event. Ethan will be traveling to Houston, TX in June to compete in the international HOSA competition. More Club Information.
- HOSA club will meet Mon, March 18 in NW200. This is an all-club meeting to celebrate and hear all about SLC.

- Congratulations to Emi Blakeney and Alton Swiderski for receiving Silver at the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) State Conference in Spokane and advancing to the National FCCLA Conference with their Repurpose and Redesign project. Gabi Patel also attended the conference participating as a student evaluator for the STAR events Entrepreneurship competition and supporting Emi and Alton. Thank you, Emi, Alton, and Gabi for your great job representing Ballard High at the FCCLA conference.

Seniors!
- March 20: Mandatory Senior Class Meeting at Lunch: 12:05 – 12:55 in the Performing Arts Center (PAC): Be there for graduation info, scholarship details and more!
- Seniors: Get your forms in! Turn in any PE Waiver Forms, Service Learning Forms
- Take your PE comp test if you need to…deadline is May 1 so we have time to process them and so you stay on track for graduation. See your school counselor if you have any questions. The counselors have drop ins at lunch every day so swing on by.
- DUE March 24: The Tim Nygard Ballard “Legacy” Scholarship, an annual $2,000 award which will be made to a graduating senior with Ballard HS “legacy roots” and be known for modeling character, compassion, and friendship towards fellow students. Learn more on the Scholarship Bulletins page.
- Ballard HS Foundation Scholarships. The Hughbanks Scholarship, and several others. Please visit the BHS website counseling page. See Ms. Bristol in the Counseling Center if you have any questions.

Beaver Gear and Spirit Wear Breakdown
- Athletic Booster Club (ABC) has Beaver Gear and spirit wear (shorts, baseball tee, bleacher seats, plaid flannels, socks, scarf and hats) on the ABC website with Duffle Bags offered at different times of the school year. Refer to the Spirit Wear updates.
- “The DAM” BHS Student Store run by Advanced Marketing Students in the Activity Center (AC) has great spirit items (t-shirts, hoodies, sunglasses, etc.) Updates on Instagram: @thedambhsstudentstore
- Performing Arts (BPA) spirit merchandise can be found on the BPA Website and offered at different times of the school year.
