For Your Support of the BHS PTSA Academics Fund!

Thank you again for your generous support to Direct Appeal. Over 165 parents, grandparents, and neighbors have given $52,360 to the annual Ballard HS PTSA Fundraising Direct Appeal this year. The BHS PTSA Academic Fund received an additional $17,844 in corporate matching contributions from your employers. Thank you for making those connections and thank you to your employers.

In total, you helped the PTSA raise $70,204, all of which will support academic programming, and it’s just in time as the PTSA Grants Committee will be awarding grants in the next month.

Why Direct Appeal?

The BHS PTSA strives to support all staff, teachers, and students. To do this, we need money. Direct Appeal is straightforward. There is no event to attend, nothing to bid on, no tickets to buy so check this one off your to-do list. Not too late to donate. Every year your Ballard HS PTSA holds the Direct Appeal Campaign to raise funds for academic grants to Ballard High teachers and staff.

Your Donations Make a Difference

• Writers in the Schools, a program that brings professional writers into the classroom to work with students to develop their creative writing skills was able to be supported last year.
• Face shields/eye protection last school year for shop students.
• A full classroom set of calculators for geometry students was helpful last year as well.
• Supported publishing seven issues (school year) of The Talisman. Th Talisman was established in 1917, is an award-winning BHS student-produced newspaper.

How Much Should I Donate?

Our goal is to raise $75,000, all of which will support academic programming for the 1,622 students during the current 23-24 school year. Please donate what you can. No amount is too small; all donations are greatly appreciated.

Corporate Matching

Remember, corporate matching gifts are an easy way to magnify the impact of your contribution. Many companies will match employee donations which is an easy way to magnify the impact of your contribution. If your employer has a matching gift policy, please fill out and email your employer’s matching form to our BHS PTSA Treasurer at bhs.ptsa.treas@gmail.com.
