Parent/Guardian and Student Involvement
Ballard High School families please consider the many ways you may want to volunteer to help out any of the groups that help to contribute to your students experience at Ballard High School.
Every contribution is appreciated and volunteering is a great way to support your student and allow them to continue to have the great opportunities that having Volunteers like you provide. “It’s Always Great to Be a Beaver.”
Ballard High School has a strong sense of community and is well supported by an outstanding staff and a robust PTSA. BHS boasts a number of unique and award-winning programs including Athletics and numerous virtual Clubs and Organizations such as FIRST Robotics article on the Seattle Times (may need subscription) (World Winner 2017), and the Talisman, our student run newspaper.
Ballard HS also features award winning programs including Performing Arts, the Biotech Academy, Academy of Finance, Project Lead the Way, DECA, Digital Filmmaking and the Greenhouse.
Ballard HS also ranks high in academic achievement, college admission, music and arts, athletics, community service and citizenship, by getting students, families and staff involved in the school and community. In addition, Ballard has a LINK Crew Program which is a national high school program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. LINK Crew trains members of the Junior and Senior class to be LINK Leaders.
Getting a diverse group of leaders from all corners of Ballard High School is vital to creating a group that will engage all members of school. As positive role models, LINK Leaders are motivators, leaders and teachers who guide the freshmen to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school.
Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA)
The Ballard High School PTSA, is an educational enrichment and advocacy group that works to cultivate an excellent educational environment for all Ballard students. We do this through listening to our students, families, and teachers to understand and advocate for their needs in order to provide the best education possible for our students.
The BHS PTSA also supports annual fundraising activities like the BASH/GALA Fundraising Dinner, Direct Appeal, and Teacher Support Funds with grants to ensure that teachers, families and students have access to essential resources, tools and support they need.

We at Ballard High School feel that participation in student-oriented activities is a vital part of a student’s education. Therefore, a wide range of activities is provided. There are so many choices to help your student thrive at school, make new friends and engage with staff. Ballard Performing Arts
The Ballard Performing Arts (BPA), Music and Theatre Department is lauded throughout the Northwest and beyond for its high level of musical and performance excellence and supported by the parent run Booster Club. Ballard HS provides one of the most complete high school music programs in Seattle – offering instruction in voice, wind and string instruments spanning jazz to classical. The Theatre Program consistently presents best-in-class plays and musicals.
Athletics Booster Club
The Ballard HS Athletic Booster Club (ABC) is a group of parents and staff that supports the student-athletes and athletic programs at Ballard High School.
We support athletic programs by providing administrative, communication, and bookkeeping services; we promote BHS sporting event attendance, school spirit, wear Beaver Gear and camaraderie for all Beavers; and we advocate for BHS Athletics in the surrounding community.
Ballard High School Foundation
The Ballard High School Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization with support from Ballard High School Alumni and with a mission to support the students, faculty and administration of Ballard High School and enrich the school’s programs and activities so that Ballard High School will continue to be a world-class learning center for the benefit of the Seattle Community.
