Announcements

  • Calling all artists! The national PTA Reflections Art Program is open for submissions! This year’s theme is “I Belong.” All mediums are welcome. The six categories are: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts. You can submit your work in person with Mr. Harkleroad in SW110, or digitally by emailing the Ballard HS PTSA. Deadline is December 15. More information on the PTA site!
  • Are you interested in having your artwork displayed in the school?Starting the week before winter break, there will be a student art gallery in the main lobby near the library available to be viewed during the school day and at the performing arts concerts. Any artwork submitted can be credited or anonymous with an optional description of your piece. If you’re interested, reach out to Mr. Harkleroad or scan the QR codes posted around the school.
  • The BHS Dance Team will host their annual Winter Showcase this Saturday Dec. 6 at 2:30 p.m. in the PAC! The Showcase features individual student choreography pieces in various styles of dance, including jazz, pom, lyrical, contemporary, and hip-hop. Tickets are available both at the door and online. Please use the QR code on the Dance Team Winter Showcase flyers throughout the school to purchase tickets or see Ms. Nielcen in the main office. We hope you will join us in the audience!

  • Cap & Gown Orders Due

  • College Visits are in the Counseling Center.  Visit the Counseling page, or Naviance.

ASB Clubs

  • GSA and ASB are sponsoring a Food Drive and clothes drop off for people affected by the government shut down. The boxes are located on the second-floor foyer next to the railing. The materials and food will be dropped off to the Ballard food bank before the break to ensure people have them for the holidays! Please donate to help those in need!
  • DECA members and community, we need judges for the AREA Competition for DECA on Jan. 8 at Lynwood Convention Center. No experience necessary and it is a fun way to see all of our young professionals in action. Ask your parents/guardians. The View the judging form. Tell them that Ballard DECA sent you!

Athletics Tryouts & Club Sports

  • Interested in joining a fun, fast-paced, and inclusive spring sport? Come check out Ballard Girls Lacrosse! No experience is necessary, and everyone is welcome. We’re holding an interest meeting for new and returning players next Wed., Dec. 10 at lunch in Ms. Lehnis’s room (S100). Come meet the team, learn what lacrosse is all about, and see if it’s the sport for you!

Beaver Gear and Spirit Wear Breakdown

  • Athletic Booster Club (ABC) has Beaver Gear and spirit wear (shorts, baseball tee, bleacher seats, plaid flannels, socks, scarf and hats) on the ABC website with Duffle Bags offered at different times of the school year.
  • The DAM” BHS Student Store run by Advanced Marketing Students in the Activity Center (AC) has great spirit items (t-shirts, hoodies, sunglasses, etc.).
  • Performing Arts (BPA) spirit merchandise can be found on the BPA Website and offered at different times of the school year.
  • Athletics! Check with coaches about specific Athletics/Sports Merchandise
