- The film program is hosting its annual 48-Hour Short Film Competition, taking place the weekend of Feb. 7-9. Students in teams of 4-5 are given 48 hours, one weekend, to create a short film that includes a prompt. The prompt will include a theme, line of dialogue, and a prop that must all be incorporated into the film. This competition is open to all students for free! - The 2025 Winter Ball theme is Night at the Museum! It will take place on February 1 at 7 p.m. at the Pacific Science Center. Tickets are on sale NOW on SchoolPay until January 29, with an increase in prices starting January 21 – so buy your tickets soon! See Ms. Pitman with questions & learn More on the school website.

Athletics & Club Sports
- The Ballard HS gymnastics team competed at Sammamish High School. They continued their undefeated streak and won with a season high score! Caitlyn A. placed 3rd on vault, 3rd on beam, 4th on floor, and 1st all around. Claire S. placed 2nd on vault, 4th on bars, 1st on beam, and 2nd all around. Dylan K. placed 5th on vault, 4th on beam, 1st on floor, and 4th all around. Mari P. placed 5th on bars and 5th on beam. Brooke A. placed 3rd on bars.

- Seniors: Do you plan to apply for the Seattle Promise Scholarship? Jacob Shapiro is the Seattle Promise Outreach Specialist assigned to Ballard HS. He’s here every Tuesday in the counseling center and can help you with the application and/or with enrolling at one of the Seattle Colleges. He can even help you get started on your FAFSA or WASFA application. Make an appointment or drop in at lunch to get help. See your school counselor if you have questions!

Beaver Gear and Spirit Wear Breakdown
- Athletic Booster Club (ABC) has Beaver Gear and spirit wear (shorts, baseball tee, bleacher seats, plaid flannels, socks, scarf and hats) on the ABC website with Duffle Bags offered at different times of the school year. Refer to the Spirit Wear updates.
- “The DAM” BHS Student Store run by Advanced Marketing Students in the Activity Center (AC) has great spirit items (t-shirts, hoodies, sunglasses, etc.).
- Performing Arts (BPA) spirit merchandise can be found on the BPA Website and offered at different times of the school year.
- Athletics! Check with coaches about specific Athletics/Sports Merchandise
