Ballard HS Students, please make sure to check your email and Schoology.
- This year’s Student Film Festival, hosted by the Film Club in the auditorium, will be on June 6 (show start 7 p.m.) and June 7 (show start 3 p.m.). Tickets may be purchased at the door with either cash or card, $10 for adults and $5 for students. Doors will open half an hour prior to the start of the show.
- Apply Now – MAUI 2027! Our new Ohana for the April 2027 trip to Maui is forming now! Get an application from Mr. Gundle in NW217. Have adventures, do research, do service and work in a fabulous team. Due June 5!
- Talisman staff distributed the latest issue of the newspaper. This issue covers many different interesting topics. Support our school newspaper and read a copy!
- Naramore! Check out students art work at the SAM and district Virtual display too! Learn more about Naramore.
- The Ballard HS Teen Health Center has re-opened with Neighborcare Health! Students complete the Registration Forms. Learn more about Neighborcare.
Seniors
- Pick up your college-level class cords during lunches next week on Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday in the first-floor lobby.

- Grant Opportunity: Kellen “Bobo” Jones ’08 Memorial Grant: Each year, $500 grants are awarded to two senior student athletes who exhibit the characteristics and attributes that made Kellen Jones a successful athlete, teammate, and Ballard Beaver. This grant may be used for any post high school vocational training, college, or license program. Applicants must have participated in their sport(s) during their senior year unless there have been extenuating circumstances. Applications are due May 30.
- Scholarship Opportunity: The Port of Seattle Chapter of Blacks in Government is now accepting 2026 Scholarship Applications. $1,000 scholarships are awarded to two graduating high school students. Applicants must demonstrate involvement in community service, outstanding leadership skills, and superb academic achievement. Applications are due June 8 – Find more information and apply here!

- If you still need to pick up your cap and gown, come to the main office during lunch, or before or after school. Please do not come during class time!

ASB & Clubs
- Please come join our Community of Cultures event on June 3! You have an amazing culture! Come teach and share your music, dance, games, traditions, art, songs, food, fashion…Culture is everywhere! Talk to Profe Pommert in room S201 if you have any questions!
Athletics & Club Sports
- Fill the stands tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at Starfire to cheer on your boy’s lacrosse team as they play Snohomish at Starfire for their first 3A state championship appearance in program history.
- Ballard Golfer Lucas Williams tied for 3rd in the 3A State Golf Tourney May 19 and 20. He put up a score of 138 (67-71) over the course of the two-day tourney at Indian Canyon Golf Course in Spokane. Six birdies led him to four under after the first round; day two was a roller coaster with three chip-ins, the most exciting of which was made on hole 12 for an eagle. Lucas represented the true Beaver proud spirit while competing this week at the state tourney. Congratulations Lucas!
- Please join us in congratulation the following Track and Field Metro Champions! Ciana J. in the girls’ 400m dash and 800m run. Cassidy A. in the girls’ 3200m run
- Top 8 finishers scored points for the team (Girls placed 4th as a team. Boys 9th) and the top 10 finishers for each event qualified for the district meet.
- Did you know that BHS has an awesome strength and conditioning program that is open to all students? Anyone can join regardless of experience, and you don’t need to be on a Ballard team to participate. If you have any questions, please see Coach Ensign in SE102 in the Activity Center (during lunch, or before/after school). Spring session hours are: Monday-Friday, 7-8 a.m. and Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday, 4:00-5:00 p.m. and Wednesdays, 2:45-3:45 p.m.

- Athletic Booster Club (ABC) has Beaver Gear and spirit wear (shorts, baseball tee, bleacher seats, plaid flannels, socks, scarf and hats) on the ABC website with Duffle Bags offered at different times of the school year.
- “The DAM” BHS Student Store run by Advanced Marketing Students in the Activity Center (AC) has great spirit items (t-shirts, hoodies, sunglasses, etc.).
- Performing Arts (BPA) spirit merchandise can be found on the BPA Website and offered at different times of the school year.
- Athletics! Check with coaches about specific Athletics/Sports Merchandise
