School News
- The 2025 Washington State High School Photography contest is here. The deadline is April 23 to enter, see signs in the hallways or come see Mrs. O’Neill in SW126 before school or at lunch for more information.
- Congratulations to the Scholars of the Quarter! This is a recognition of students who have demonstrated excellence, hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude in the school community. We are so proud of their achievements!
- Grades 9 – 11: Do you want to join ASB for the 2025-26 school year?! Do you want the opportunity to make next year unforgettable?! Do you want to have say in everyday school activities, dances, and spirit weeks? If that is appealing to you, or even if it’s not; grab an ASB packet in your ELA class, or in the main office and make next year great!
- Attention all 10th and 11th Graders! Link Crew applications are open. Link Crew is a fantastic way to give back to your community, and we welcome all applicants with open arms. Be involved! This commitment means that you will help welcome new-to-Ballard students and fostering a strong bond between our current and new community members. This is also a great way to earn Service-Learning Hours! Look for an email with MORE information and the link to the application from Ms. Lehni!
ASB Clubs
- Service-Learning opportunity in collaboration with the BHS Library. Our Comic Book Club received roughly 3000 comics, or 9 boxes worth. We would require students to sort and catalog the books, and we would sell them to give back to the library. Come on Wed at 2:30 p.m. after school in the library. ~ Lena R. Questions? - Have a problem with the spirit weeks or dances? Come fix them! Join ASB and help determine the culture of the 25-26 school year and make a real difference! Grab an ASB packet in any ELA class or in the front office.
- Do you want to join ASB for the 2025-26 school year? ASB election packets were distributed to ALL ELA classes and the main office. Pick up a packet then and all are welcome to join! Learn More.
- Creative Writing Club meets Wednesdays at lunch in SW105!
- Interested in engineering, electrical, programming, or business? Come to Robotics Club in NW205 on Mondays or Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m., no experience necessary! We compete and learn vital skills like wiring, 3D modeling, coding, and graphic design.
- Ballard HS offers a wide range of 70+ clubs & activities.

Seniors Class of 2025
- This is a reminder to all seniors that are interested in speaking, performing, or being a host at graduation that the graduation audition form is available in the Main Office! We will have roughly 2 speakers, 2 performers, and 2 emcees. The form is due on April 28 to Ms. Lehni’s box in the Main Office or to Ms. Lehni personally in S100. Auditions will be held on April 30, May 1, and May 2.

Links to the Golden Beaver, Hughbanks, and Tim Nygard scholarships are available on the BHS website on the Counseling page, or you can pick up a paper copy in the Counseling Center. The deadline to apply is Monday, April 21. See your counselor with any questions.

Beaver Gear and Spirit Wear Breakdown
- Athletic Booster Club (ABC) has Beaver Gear and spirit wear (shorts, baseball tee, bleacher seats, plaid flannels, socks, scarf and hats) on the ABC website with Duffle Bags offered at different times of the school year. Refer to the Spirit Wear updates.
- “The DAM” BHS Student Store run by Advanced Marketing Students in the Activity Center (AC) has great spirit items (t-shirts, hoodies, sunglasses, etc.).
- Performing Arts (BPA) spirit merchandise can be found on the BPA Website and offered at different times of the school year.
- Athletics! Check with coaches about specific Athletics/Sports Merchandise
