Ballard HS Students, please make sure to check your email and Schoology.

• Are you passionate about the arts, looking for a leadership opportunity, or in need of service hours? Join the Ballard Arts Leadership Council!
  • We are looking for students involved in theater, choir, band, orchestra, film, and visual art interested in promoting student art and coordinating logistics behind events. If you’re interested, scan the QR code in one of the arts classrooms or reach out to Mr. Harkleroad. The first meeting will be on Mon, Nov. 2 after school in SW110. We hope to see you there!
• AP Exam registration and pre-payments are due October 30 by 5:00 p.m.! If you plan to take an AP test in the spring, sign up now! Instructions and more information on the BHS website.
• Unified Drama is starting up soon! Join us for an info meeting at lunch Wed, Oct. 21 in SW104. If you have never been involved in a play at Ballard before, you are guaranteed a slot as a performer in the Unified production, but you must attend this meeting!
• Looking for Service Hours? Find SL opportunities.
• Tickets for the Fall Play, Macbeth, are on sale! Get your tickets before they sell out! Learn more information and tickets info too!

ASB & Clubs

• Earth Service Corps is having a bake sale Tuesday through Thursday during both lunches. All profits will be donated to The Sierra Club, a charity focused on using legal action to achieve environmental justice.  
  • Interested in the environment? And easy service hours? Join the Earth Service Corps in NW217, Mr. Gundle’s room, on Tuesdays during both lunches! We plan environmental activities and fundraisers around the school and attend events throughout the city! You will receive 30 min in service hours for each meeting.
• The Black and Brown Student Union (BBSU) meets on Wednesdays in room N104 during lunch!  
• Join Baking Magic club if you’re interested in baking monthly and donating to local charities! Contact Mrs. Jereczek for more information (N101, mejereczek@seattleschools.org).   
• DECA Registration until Oct. 23. Fill out the registration form, pay the dues to become a member. As always, if finances are a challenge, email Ms. Jereczek. DECA is open to all. To compete in Area, you need to be a member and have taken a class in Business or Marketing. Look for QR code on posters in the hall, on DECA Instagram, and on Ms. J and Mr. Shernoff’s class Schoology pages.
• The next DECA meeting is next week on Wed. the 21 during lunch in the PAC. We will start having smaller breakout meetings on mornings and Thursdays.
• If you want to start a new club or continue a club from previous years, visit the clubs page on the Ballard HS website or see an email from Ms. Lehni.

Juniors & Seniors

• Seniors: Do you Need Help with Your College Applications? The Counseling Center is offering after-school college application support for seniors. We can also help you get started with your FAFSA or WASFA, Seattle Promise Scholarship application, STAR account for the University of Washington—anything! Counseling Center on Wed, Oct. 28, 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.
• Seniors! Time to order Cap, Gown, Tassel, Stole. Learn more.
• Juniors and Seniors, sign up for college visits!
• Juniors and Seniors, there is a Financial Aid Info Night in the PAC Tues, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. Let your parents/guardians know about this opportunity to learn more about the college financial aid process.
• Seniors: Are you applying to WSU? Let your counselor know you’d like to be considered for the WSU Regents Scholarship worth $4000/year for four years! WSU is looking for students with outstanding academic potential who have demonstrated leadership through contribution to community, family, and/or school activities. If nominated as a Regents Scholar, you will then compete for the Distinguished Regents Scholars Award, which covers full tuition and fees for four years, approximately $42,000. Contact your counselor by Fri, Oct. 23 to be considered for this scholarship.
• In the Counseling Center, we have College Visits scheduled if you’re interested in attending, register in SchooLinks! 
• Attention Class of 2027. It is time to order your Senior Sweatshirts designed by Piper Carlisle, Gemma Sipos, Oscar McCullough, and Sydney Willis if interested.
  • Sweatshirts are $52.50 by 11/08/26 (by 10 p.m.)

Beaver Gear and Spirit Wear Breakdown

• Athletic Booster Club (ABC) has Beaver Gear and spirit wear (shorts, baseball tee, bleacher seats, plaid flannels, socks, scarf and hats) on the ABC website with Duffle Bags offered at different times of the school year.
• “The DAM” BHS Student Store run by Advanced Marketing Students in the Activity Center (AC) has great spirit items (t-shirts, hoodies, sunglasses, etc.).
• Performing Arts (BPA) spirit merchandise can be found on the BPA Website and offered at different times of the school year.
• Athletics! Check with coaches about specific Athletics/Sports Merchandise
