We are thrilled to present the first annual Unified Drama Performance at Ballard High School directed by Miller Shor! The performance is on November 21, 2025 at 6 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center (PAC). In Unified Drama, students with and without disabilities, of all backgrounds, come together as equals to put on a production. The concept is simple: empower youth to lead, let creativity rule, and put the Spotlight on Ability!

Unified Drama aims to abolish barriers to access the performing arts and create a space where all students have their voices heard. This is a devised production, meaning it was written by the students in the ensemble, and will include storytelling in many forms, including music, dance, puppetry, and monologue. At it’s core, this production asks what it means to be human, and what threads connect us all. In a time of increasing division, this question is more important than ever. Come join us for one night only to watch young artists connect with one another without barriers or judgement. Art is for everyone!

What is Unified Drama?

Unified Drama dissolves typical barriers between youth through transformative school-based performing arts programming. In Unified Drama, students with and without disabilities, of all backgrounds, come together as equals to put on a production. The concept is simple: empower youth to lead, let creativity rule, and put the Spotlight on Ability. The production will be written and created by the performers. It will showcase all kinds of theatrical abilities, including acting, singing, dancing, and more.

Rehearsals are already underway, and the Unified Drama Performances will take place on November 21 at 6 p.m. in the BHS Performing Arts Center.
