Senior SPREE has been a Beaver tradition for more than 30 years! SPREE is an all-night party hosted and chaperoned by BHS PTSA Parents and Staff, in collaboration with the professional graduation party company, Grad Nights. Past venues include the Family Fun Center, the Hard Rock Cafe and the Pacific Science Center. Activities have included a game show, hypnotist, arcade games, water bumper cars and more!

The Ballard HS Graduation Ceremony is on Friday, June 14, 2024 at the Memorial Stadium at 5 p.m. This means that graduates attending the PTSA’s SPREE all-night grad party will have the opportunity to return home, grad a bite to eat and change clothing before meeting the SPREE chartered buses at the BHS parking lot to be taken to their all-night graduation party! Throughout the night, grads will travel to two exciting, secret event venues and be treated to a variety of activities, food, friends, fun and a final opportunity to make memories as the Class of ’24.

Parent/Guardian Volunteers Needed

A dedicated group of parent volunteers work together throughout the year on the SPREE committee to organize the event. And, each year, we ask parents of Ballard HS Juniors and Sophomores to “pay it forward” and chaperone SPREE.

  • We need parents of Freshmen, Sophomore and Junior students to be our SPREE night chaperones. It really is a fun opportunity to see the party in action and get a sneak peek at what your own student will experience.

For the night of June 14, we will need a minimum of the following

  • 10 Bus Chaperones: Help with loading students onto your bus, ride the bus venue to venue and then monitor exits and/or move throughout the event venue while our group is there. 9:30 p.m.- 5:30 a.m. (And, we can split this into two shifts if you’re only able to cover one.)
  • 8 Check In Volunteers: Help at Ballard HS from 9:30 – 10:30 p.m. with bus check in and load.
  • 2 Supply Runners: Help pick up some cases of water and a few other items and bring to BHS at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14 (graduation night).

Chaperones sit in the front of the chartered buses and ride to the two secret locations, departing from and returning to BHS. At the venues, we ask chaperones to stay near /at a station— typically at an entrance or exit, but also sometimes roaming. You don’t need to run any activities or keep tabs on a particular group of students. We go to professional event venues that are staffed for the activities that take place there! It really is a fun night to be a part of!

We would LOVE and NEED your help! Please email PTSA SPREE Chair Shelby Reynolds and Darcy Greene at; shelby@ShineEventDesign.com.

History of Ballard HS Senior SPREE Graduation Party

Senior SPREE has been a Ballard High School tradition for over 30 years! The Ballard High School Graduation Party Committee looks forward to a fun, safe, and substance-free all night celebration immediately following the graduation ceremony.

What is the Graduation Party: The Ballard High School Graduation Party is an opportunity for all seniors to participate in a special evening of celebration, fun and memories.

This celebration is not a school-sponsored event, but has been planned and organized by a PTSA Parent Volunteer committee of the Ballard High School. The celebration is designed to provide the Ballard High School Senior Class with an avenue for celebrating their successful educational achievement with their classmates in a safe and secure environment.

Who Can Participate: The Graduation Night Celebration is open only to Ballard HS seniors who have pre-purchased a ticket prior to graduation. Attendees will be checked in to their bus. During this process, BHS parent chaperones will ensure your student’s name is on our attendee list, provide them with a wrist band that lets them into the venues and perform a security pat down to ensure students are ready for a safe, fun, substance-free night.

The SPREE Ticket: The ticket covers party buses, food all night long, entertainment, activities, and two event venues. The actual cost for this unique event is quite a bit higher per ticket sales, our BHS PTSA fundraising has helped to reduce this ticket price and creates scholarships as well for seniors who could use the support in order to attend.

When Does it Take Place: Chartered buses will leave after the Graduation Ceremony. Families will have an opportunity to meet their graduate, then SPREE attendees need to go to the bus loading zone. The buses will take students to secret venues throughout the night, with a return around 5:30 a.m. on the the next morning.
