Counselors College Pre-Session

Class of 2025 Parents/Guardians: There will be a Curriculum Night “pre-session” from 5:30 p.m. – 6:20 p.m. with BHS Counselors who will answer questions about applying to college, requesting letters of recommendation, the basics of financial aid and info that was shared with your Seniors.

Options to obtain your student’s schedule prior to Curriculum Night!

  1. Ask your student to send a screenshot of their schedule off The Source.
  2. Log onto The Source as a Parent/Guardian and look at their schedule.
  3. Ask your student to complete the schedule on a grid (below or on PDF)
  4. If the above aren’t possible, receive a schedule in the office.
    • Utilize the helpful leadership students in the hall.

Helpful Hints

  • Talk with your student before you attend Curriculum Night to double check you know their schedule and room numbers and location.
  • Plan ahead. Parking is very limited, and we encourage you to carpool or utilize other forms of transportation such as mass transit, walking, or riding your bike. 
  • If you are driving, please be mindful of our neighbors and ensure you are only parking in allowable spots. We continually strive to be respectful members of our neighborhood.

School Boosters Clubs


Check Out Some Fun Ballard Merchandise

  • The Ballard Student Store has a kiosk in the first floor foyer run by the Advanced Marketing Students has great spirit items (t-shirts, hoodies, sunglasses, etc.).
  • The Athletic Booster Club (ABC) will be selling Beaver Gear on campus as well and offering New Pajama Pants with pockets (currently only offered at Curriculum Night), tees, hoodies, beanies and much more on the Athletics Booster Club page.

State Testing

All students are required to meet State Standards in English Language Arts and Math in order to earn a diploma from Ballard High School. The most efficient way to demonstrate proficiency is by taking and passing the state exams given to students the spring of their sophomore year.

Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA)

  • All 10th graders will take the Smarter Balanced Assessments in English Language Arts and in Math.
  • Any 11th and 12th graders who have not yet passed the exams will have the opportunity to retake the Smarter Balanced Exam in ELA and Math.

Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS)

  • All 11th graders will take the WCAS this spring.
