Summary : Congratulations BHS Film Students.

Congratulations Ballard Students!

Just Announced!

Digital Film students in classroom watching awards.

We have exciting news from our BHS Film Program! Friday, Nov. 21, 2025 our Advanced Video Production students watched the live broadcast of the 2025 National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences High School Student Production awards (the student Emmys).

We had 2 nominees, Sophia Poole ’27 for Editing of “Chop Chop” and Lake Neill ‘26 for “A Moment in Time” in the Arts and Entertainment Programming. (The picture shows Lake accepting the award, all the nominees were asked to pre record their acceptance speeches a few weeks ago, for them to use on the broadcast in case they won. That’s why you also see Lake on the screen, and in class on the left in the picture.)

  • “A Moment in Time” Directed by Lake Neil ’26, Co-Produced by Miriam Goodman ’24 and Hazel Hartman ’25, won for Arts and Entertainment Programming!

Congratulations to Lake and Sophia and to our recent graduates Miriam and Hazel! The film captures beautiful imagery and ideas about the power of art in our lives. As art is such an important part of our Ballard HS community and as we each interact with art in our own ways, I sincerely hope you will take a moment to view “A Moment in Time” ~ Principal Abby Hunt
