Ballard Filmmakers score big with NW “Student Emmy” Nominations
Summary: Congratulations to BHS Student Nominees.
Congratulations On Nominations
Student Production Awards Nominees
Once again, our talented Ballard H. S. Filmmakers did very well competing against High School students from Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Washington and Wyoming– with 10 nominations in this year’s Student Production Awards. (Informally known as the student Emmys).
They’ve been nominated in short film categories ranging from Documentary, to Fiction, to Writing, to Photography and Music Videos. We received nominations in every category we entered. This is our equivalent of “going to state” (although it’s actually five states!)
We’ll find out who has won the highly coveted crystal pillars on May 29, 2026 at the National Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) N.W. Emmy Awards Ceremony at Fremont Studios! If you see them in your class or in the halls, please congratulate the following: Griffyn Braly 27, Lucy Bunich ‘26, Gianna Goldyn ‘26, Miriam Goodman ’25 Grad, Maddie Irish ‘27, Luella McNichols ‘26, Juliet Murphy ’25 Grad, Lake Neill ‘26, Sophia Poole ‘27, Oleksandra Prokopenko ‘27, Amara Shelton ‘27.~ Steven Bradford: Digital Filmmaking Teacher
