  • There will be no bells or intercom announcements through the end of May, during AP and State Testing. Please check your student email during these weeks for important announcements and news. Good luck to everyone testing in the next few weeks!

Anxiety Toolkits

  • Feeling the end-of-semester stress? Your UW Nursing Students are here to help! Join us this Thur, May 14, to pick up an “Anxiety Toolkit” pamphlet, engage in a mindfulness activity, and learn some quick tips and tricks for reducing anxiety both in and out of the classroom. (There may be treats and stickers provided). Stop by, say hi, and grab some tangible strategies to help you finish the year strong!
  • There will be two locations:
    • During Lunch: Visit us at our booth in the Commons/Lunchroom.
    • After School: Catch us near the main exit as you head out for the day.
  • Cheer + Chipotle! Wed, May 20 – Dine out for Ballard High Cheerleading Fundraising. 25% of all purchases 5-9 p.m. at the Interbay location will support the team. Order online for pick-up using code XBW6RYQ or show the flyer in the restaurant. Address: 1827 15th Ave W STE A22, Seattle, WA.
  • Talisman staff distributed the latest issue of the newspaper. This issue covers many different interesting topics such as the new digital hall passes, Ms. Povey sewing a prom dress, an inside look on our spring sports athletes, and, of course, some intriguing Beavesdroppings, and more. Support our school newspaper and read a copy! 
  • Naramore! Check out students art work at the SAM and district Virtual display too! Learn more about Naramore.
  • Now! the Ballard HS Teen Health Center has re-opening with Neighborcare Health! Students complete the Registration Forms. Learn more about Neighborcare.

Seniors

  • Scholarships! Grants! Learn more.
    • Grant Opportunity: Kellen “Bobo” Jones ’08 Memorial Grant: Each year, $500 grants are awarded to two senior student athletes who exhibit the characteristics and attributes that made Kellen Jones a successful athlete, teammate, and Ballard Beaver. This grant may be used for any post high school vocational training, college, or license program. Applicants must have participated in their sport(s) during their senior year unless there have been extenuating circumstances. Applications are due May 30.
    • Scholarship Opportunity: The Port of Seattle Chapter of Blacks in Government is now accepting 2026 Scholarship Applications. $1,000 scholarships are awarded to two graduating high school students. Applicants must demonstrate involvement in community service, outstanding leadership skills, and superb academic achievement. Applications are due June 8 – Find more information and apply here!
  • If interested don’t miss getting your Senior Prom and Senior Dinner Tickets!
  • If you still need to pick up your cap and gown, come to the main office during lunch, or before or after school. Please do not come during class time!
    • Cap and gown, or tassel and stole, contact National Achiever as soon as possible, at support@nationalachiever.com or 425-357-1338.
    • If you would like to borrow a cap and gown, please visit the Counseling Center.
  • SPREE: Seniors – if you would like to participate in this year’s Senior SPREE event, tickets are now on sale & bus sign ups May 20 & 21! Tickets will be on sale until capacity for the venues is reached.

ASB & Clubs

  • Please come join our Community of Cultures event on June 3! You have an amazing culture! Come teach and share your music, dance, games, traditions, art, songs, food, fashion…Culture is everywhere! APPLY TODAY! Grab your friends and fill out the QR code posted around the school! Deadline for application is May 6. Talk to Profe Pommert in room S201 if you have any questions! 

Athletics & Club Sports

  • Did you know that BHS has an awesome strength and conditioning program that is open to all students? Anyone can join regardless of experience, and you don’t need to be on a Ballard team to participate. If you have any questions, please see Coach Ensign in SE102 in the Activity Center (during lunch, or before/after school). Spring session hours are: Monday-Friday, 7-8 a.m. and Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday, 4:00-5:00 p.m. and Wednesdays, 2:45-3:45 p.m.

Beaver Gear and Spirit Wear Breakdown

  • Athletic Booster Club (ABC) has Beaver Gear and spirit wear (shorts, baseball tee, bleacher seats, plaid flannels, socks, scarf and hats) on the ABC website with Duffle Bags offered at different times of the school year.
  • The DAM” BHS Student Store run by Advanced Marketing Students in the Activity Center (AC) has great spirit items (t-shirts, hoodies, sunglasses, etc.).
  • Performing Arts (BPA) spirit merchandise can be found on the BPA Website and offered at different times of the school year.
  • Athletics! Check with coaches about specific Athletics/Sports Merchandise
