Students & Families

Ballard HS Students, please make sure to check your email and Schoology.

All students, if you visit local restaurants during lunchtime, please remember to conduct yourselves respectfully. Businesses can choose whether to allow students during lunchtime, so it’s up to you to continue having that privilege.

• Due TODAY: AP Exam registration and pre-payments are due October 30 by 5:00 p.m.! If you plan to take an AP test in the spring, sign up now! Instructions and more information on the BHS website.
• SPS High School student artists are invited to participate in the Memorial Stadium Art Wall Program. Deadline to apply is Oct. 30. More information on the SPS website.
• Spring Musical: There is a mandatory meeting on Wed, Nov. 4 at lunch in the PAC for all those interested in auditioning for the spring musical Bright Star!
  • We will discuss audition requirements, hand out audition packets, and answer all questions. If you cannot attend, be sure to contact Ms. Miller (mashor@seattleschools.org) to get your audition materials! We hope to see you all there!
• BHS film students have been nominated for National Student Production Awards! Winners will be announced on 11/20. Learn more.
  • Outstanding Writer Nominees: Griffyn B., Maddie I., and Oleksandra P. for Agoraphobe
  • Outstanding Arts/Entertainment/Cultural Affairs Nominee: Lucy B. for Henry
• The PTSA Hosted Annual Reflections with the Wa State PTA. Entries due November 30, 2026 by 7 p.m.
  • This year’s theme is “What my Culture Means to Me.” Art categories include Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts, Film, and Dance Choreography. 
• Are you passionate about the arts, looking for a leadership opportunity, or in need of service hours? Join the Ballard Arts Leadership Council!
  • We are looking for students involved in theater, choir, band, orchestra, film, and visual art interested in promoting student art and coordinating logistics behind events. If you’re interested, scan the QR code in one of the arts classrooms or reach out to Mr. Harkleroad. The first meeting will be on Mon, Nov. 2 after school in SW110. We hope to see you there!

ASB & Clubs

There will be a DECA meeting next Wednesday in the PAC! Area forms will come out next week. Even if you were a member last year, you have to sign up again this year.

• Teams and clubs, want more students at your games/events? The Media and Marketing lab is hosting workshops every Thursday at lunch in Ms. Lehni’s room, S100! Come learn how to make gameday graphics, schedule posts, and promote your sport or club! No experience needed, see you there! 
• Join Baking Magic club if you’re interested in baking monthly and donating to local charities! Contact Mrs. Jereczek for more information (N101, mejereczek@seattleschools.org).   
• If you want to start a new club or continue a club from previous years, visit the clubs page on the Ballard HS website or see an email from Ms. Lehni.

Athletics & Club Sports

• Boys Swim & Dive: there is a REQUIRED pre-season meeting in S101, Coach Morean’s classroom, after school Tues Nov 3. We will get underway promptly at 3:50pm. Attendance will be taken and you should come with all your Final Forms paperwork completed.
• Girls Flag Football will have their first practice on Mon, Nov. 16. Sign up for flag football on Final Forms. Contact head flag coach Ian Essig for more information.

• Juniors and Seniors, PSAT and SAT scores are posted now. Log in to College Board to access your scores.
• Seniors! Time to order Cap, Gown, Tassel, Stole. Learn more.
• Juniors and Seniors, sign up for college visits!
  • In the Counseling Center, we have College Visits scheduled if you’re interested in attending, register in SchooLinks! 
• Attention Class of 2027. It is time to order your Senior Sweatshirts designed by Piper Carlisle, Gemma Sipos, Oscar McCullough, and Sydney Willis if interested.
  • Sweatshirts are $52.50 by 11/08/26 (by 10 p.m.)

Beaver Gear and Spirit Wear Breakdown

• Athletic Booster Club (ABC) has Beaver Gear and spirit wear (shorts, baseball tee, bleacher seats, plaid flannels, socks, scarf and hats) on the ABC website with Duffle Bags offered at different times of the school year.
• “The DAM” BHS Student Store run by Advanced Marketing Students in the Activity Center (AC) has great spirit items (t-shirts, hoodies, sunglasses, etc.).
• Performing Arts (BPA) spirit merchandise can be found on the BPA Website and offered at different times of the school year.
• Athletics! Check with coaches about specific Athletics/Sports Merchandise
