48 Hour Film Competition Feb. 7-9
What is the 48 Hour Film Competition?
- BHS Students! We want YOU to create a film in 48 HRS.
- At our kickoff event on Feb. 7 afterschool at 4 p.m. we will reveal a theme, line of dialogue, and prop that must all be included in your film.
- You will make a film under 3 and a half minutes in groups of 4-5
- You will have the opportunity to check out gear to use for the weekend.
- The 48 hours is up on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 4 p.m.
Timeline
- January 10: Registration opens
- February 1: Registration closes
- February 5: Teams are revealed
- February 7: Kickoff at 4 p.m. in N225 (in the library)
- February 9: Films are due at 4 p.m.
- Late February (Date TBD): Showcase inthe library on Friday afterschool
Rules & Guidelines
- The film must be under 3 and a half minutes (including credits)
- Films must include the line, prop, and theme
- You will work in teams of 4-5 to create your film
- If you do not include all the prompts your film will be disqualified
- Equipment must be returned by February 12
- Films will be judged by several Ballard teachers on technical ability, creativity, story, and ability to incorporate the prompts
Prizes Include
- 1st Place gets Digital Film Merch and movie ticket vouchers!
- Your choice of either a tote bag or a T-shirt
- 2nd Place gets movie ticket vouchers
- Both Winners will have their films shown at the BHS Film Festival in June!
- All films are eligible to be submitted for consideration.
