MisinfoDay Jr. Event

On the evening of Thursday June 9 Ballard High School will host the first ever in-person MisinfoDay Jr. event with BHS Freshmen

Event details:  “open house for parents and guardians to see the work of 9th grade World History students centering around the topic of information literacy and resisting online misinformation.” 

·         6–6:30 p.m. Mike Caulfield, UW Research Scientist and originator of the “SIFT” fact checking method will kick off the event with a short talk in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) and Commons

·         6:30–7:30 p.m. 9th grade World History students from Mr. Morean, Mr. Holmgren, Ms. Dowdy and Mr. Lee’s classes will display their “social science fair” projects about how to combat online misinformation. Visit student stations to learn about an information literacy concept or skill during a 5-minute interactive presentation. 

This is a big event for our freshmen and a fun way to end the year. Please consider joining us if you can. Your students would love to see you.  We hope to see you there!
