Academic Deadlines 2026-27

1st Semester 2026

• Wed, September 2: First day of school for 9th-12th grade students. Early release will occur every Wednesday except for the first week of school. 
• Tue, Sept 15: (10th day of semester): Last day for students to request to drop a class. Class options are limited. Classes dropped after this date will result in a “W” on a student’s transcripts.
• Fri, October 2 (end of 5th week): Last day for students to request a Pass/No Pass grade. (Form available in Counseling Office). Only one P/N allowed per semester. After the 5th week of the semester, administrative approval is required to drop a class, and an “E” grade will be posted on the student’s transcript for the dropped class.
• Fri, October 9: State In-service Day (no school for students) – Last day for teachers to turn in grade changes including completion of “I” grades from last semester.
• November 5: End of 1st Quarter
• November 11: Veterans Day Observed (no school) 
• November 26 – 27: Thanksgiving and Native American Heritage Day (no school) 
• December 18: 1-hour early dismissal 
• December 21 – January 1, 2027: Winter break (no school) 
• January 18: Martin Luther King Jr. Day (no school)  
• January 27: Last day of1st Semester
• January TBD: 1st Semester Finals

2nd Semester 2027

• Fri, January 29: First day of 2nd Semester
• Thurs, Feb. 11 (10th day of semester): Last day for students to request to drop a class. Class options are limited.
• February 15 – 19: Mid-winter break, including Presidents Day (no school) 
• Fri, March 5 (end of 5th week): Last day for students to request a Pass/No Pass grade. (Form available in Counseling Office). Only one P/N allowed per semester. After the 5th week of the semester, administrative approval is required to drop a class, and an “E” grade will be posted on the student’s transcript for the dropped class.
• Fri, March 12 (end of 6th week): Last day for teacher to turn in grade changes including completion of “I” grades from last semester.
• April 8: End of 3rd Quarter
• April 12 – 16: Spring break (no school)
• May 31: Memorial Day (no school)
• June TBD: Senior 2nd Semester Finals to be determined with Instructional Council
• June TBD: Senior Last Day
• June TBD: Graduation date and time to be determined by SPS
• June TBD: 2nd Semester Finals (Grades 9 – 11)
• June 18: Juneteenth Holiday (no school) 
• June 21: Last day of school – Grades 9 – 11 (1-hour early dismissal)
• June 22, 23: Potential emergency closure makeup days
