Principal Spotlight: Ballard HS Principal Abby Hunt

At Ballard High School, a commitment to academic excellence, student opportunity, and strong community partnerships helps students reach their full potential. Under Principal Abby Hunt’s leadership, that commitment was recently recognized when Ballard High School was named one of the top high schools in Washington by U.S. News & World Report, earning the No. 13 ranking statewide.

This recognition reflects the collective efforts of Ballard’s educators, students, families, and community partners, whose dedication helps create a learning environment where students are challenged, supported, and encouraged to explore their interests.

“I am very proud of our educators’ commitment to ensuring that all students receive a high-quality education in an engaging and caring environment,” Principal Hunt shared. “Our students never cease to amaze me in the varied ways that they shine, and I am grateful for our school community’s support and partnership, which allow students at Ballard HS to have a range of opportunities where they can advance in their studies and excel.”

This National Principals Month, we celebrate Principal Hunt and the entire Ballard High School community for helping students thrive and for their ongoing dedication to educational excellence.
