    High School Athletics Updates From SPS

    The WA Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA), which governs high school athletics, has shared new recommendations (guidelines document) for a safe return of sports. The Athletics department is looking at creative solutions for student athletes to safely participate in practices over the summer. More information will come to families from your school or team coach, please check the SPS Athletics News page which will be updated as more details are confirmed. 

    WIAA Modifies 2020-21 Sports Calendar

    NEW! Aug 3 | The WIAA Executive Board sports season calendar update. The changes create four WIAA-sanctioned seasons and move moderate and high risk team sports, to the WIAA Season 3.

    The BHS Athletic department staff is committed to do all we can to provide a positive experience for your student through our core PACT principles: Pride, Attitude, Compete, and Trust.



    MetroLeagueWA

    Ballard High School is a member of the 3A Metro League, which includes 17 area high schools. Announced January 2020, Ballard HS will stay in 3A Metro for at least the next two years. WIAA Classifications for the 2020-24 cycle have been approved by the WIAA Executive Board.

    Club Sports

    Club sports are a valuable part of Ballard High School, however they are not recognized as WIAA (WA Interscholastic Activities Association) sanctioned sports. To view Club Sport schedules, visit the individual team pages.
