    BHS Senior Families Have you Completed Your FASFA?

    FAFSA logoBallard High School Counselors want to you know that completing and submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the single most important thing you can do to get financial aid for college. The FAFSA is a free online application for financial aid eligibility for college. The FAFSA is a form that determines your financial need, allowing you to be eligible for federal financial aid including some merit-based scholarships—awards based on talent and academics that still require you to file the FAFSA. The FAFSA is used by schools to put together your federal student aid package. This package can include grants for college, work-study, federal student loans, state and school financial aid, and merit scholarships. 

    Submit your FAFSA as soon as possible. Federal student aid applications began Oct 1 at Federal financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, know your deadlines and apply as early as you can to maximize your financial aid.

    Monday, December 2 | SPREE Tickets Go On Sale!  | What is Senior SPREE? Senior SPREE has been a Beaver tradition for nearly 30 years! This is an ALL NIGHT graduation party produced and chaperoned by the PTSA and BHS parents in collaboration with Grad Nights – a professional organization that specializes in making graduation nights fun, memorable and safe. A ticket for your graduating senior makes a great holiday gift!     December 15 | On-Time Order Deadline Day for Cap & Gown Orders. Get your orders in by this date as product pricing will increase, and availability will be limited after this date. National Achiever does not take orders over the phone but can answer questions at 1-866-238-5336. Orders must be placed online at

    Any Seniors who have not yet passed the SBA ELA & Math exams will have the opportunity to retake the Smarter Balanced Exam in ELA and Math the week of March 24 - 26.


    April 2020

    Friday, April 3 - Senior Class Meeting in the Activity Center, 10:30 to 11:15 AM
    Graduation announcements and other ordered items will be available for pick up.

    May 2020

    ATTN: Seniors Who Have Pre-Ordered a Yearbook |  Anyone with fines will be highlighted on a poster hanging outside the Commons and the fine must be paid by June 3 in order to pick up your yearbook on June 4 - Pay via SchoolPay on the Source or with Ms. K in the Activity Center. Senior yearbooks will be distributed on June 4 at the Senior Dinner and June 5 at Beaver Day.

    Wed, May 13 - All Service Learning Paperwork which includes qualifying for the Above & Beyond award is due for the award that will be given out on Senior Awards Night on June 3, 2020.

    Friday, May 22 - Cap and Gowns Distributed in the PAC

    Thursday, May 28 - Senior Class Photos for Slideshow Due
    Seniors please submit photos of you and you friends at any age for the Senior Class Slideshow, contact email and details to follow.

    Saturday, May 30 - PROM at the Columbia Tower, 8 to 11 PM

    June 2020

    Wednesday, June 3 - Senior Awards Night at 7 PM, PAC
    Chords will be distributed, and Valedictorian/Salutatorian recognized; this is an evening dedicated to academic excellence and recognizing the many accomplishments of graduating Ballard High School Seniors.

    Thursday, June 4 - Senior Dinner in the BHS Commons, 6 PM
    Senior dinner with slideshow and yearbook distribution (if no fines).

    Friday, June 5 - Beaver Day

    Monday, June 8 - Ballard Nation Athletic Awards at 7 PM, PAC
    If you participated in a sport this year, you and your family are invited to a fun night honoring the accomplishments of the teams, coaches and athletes.

    Wednesday, June 10 - Senior Finals More details to follow.

    Thursday, June 11 - Senior Finals & Last Day for Seniors, Fines Due & Checkout Form REQUIRED More details to follow.

    10:00 AM MANDATORY Rehearsal Memorial Stadium
    Students are responsible for finding their own way to the rehearsal at Memorial Stadium. Senior arrival time to graduation TBA at rehearsal.

    5:30 PM Ballard HS Graduation at Memorial Stadium Families do not need tickets for graduation. Plenty of seating is available.
