    GOLDEN BEAVERS SCHOLARSHIP 
    The Golden Beavers Scholarship is a one-time grant given by Ballard High School alumni, graduates of 50 or more years ago. This year the Golden Beavers are offering scholarships for students going to 4 year, 2 year and technical colleges/universities  Download an application for more information and return to the BHS Counseling Center by March 2, 2018.


    The Ballard Elks are offering another NEW scholarship. Scholarship to be awarded to one male and one female student for a vocational school. Vocational schools include nursing schools, technical schools (culinary arts, massage therapy, office management, fashion design, etc.). Let’s change this! We have some of the best STEAM scholarships available to students looking to pursue degrees in these fields. Share these with your students, parents, and fellow educators.     3/1/18 Blacks at Microsoft Scholarship Varies 12 Senior of African descent, 3.3+, pursuing 4 year degree in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or select business programs (such as finance, business administration, or marketing). https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/diversity/programs/blacks-scholarships.aspx
     3/1/18  PNACAC Student Scholarship  $1,000.00 12 Five students who attend school in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington will be selected for a one-time, non-renewable $1,000 scholarship. Students from diverse backgrounds and all family income backgrounds are encouraged to apply. GPA >3.0. HOW TO APPLY: 1. Record a video (no more than one minute in length) responding to one of the following prompts:
    • “What would you like to be doing in 10 years, and how does college help you get there?” -OR-
    • “How has your college / career counselor, school counselor or advisor helped you (and/or others) in finding the right college fit and what would you like to say to them?”
    2. Upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo.

    3/2/18 WA State School Retirees' Association 900-2500 12 3.0+ GPA, must be entering career in "field of education": teacher, counselor, speech thereapist, occupational therapist, or psychologist. Apply at www.wssra.org
    3/10/18 Ewing C. Kelly Scholarship $2,500.00 12 Awarded to multiple. High school seniors in the state of Washington are eligible.     Winner must perform at 2 Spring concerts
     3/15/18  SPL Foundation Civic Courage Scholarship  $5,000.00 12  Applicants must reside or attend school in Seattle. Have active SPL card. Essay between 1500-2000 words.     3/31/18 Seattle Swedish Community Scholarships $1500-3500 12 Application available in Counseling Center. Submit app with essay, transcript, ACT or SAT score, proof of family income and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Must be available for 5/19/18 interview
     4/6/18  SAEOP Scholarship  $500.00  12 SPS seniors attending 2 or 4 year college. NOT need based. Essay, Faculty, and Counselor Rec required. Applications available at www.saeop.org 
     4/15/18  UW Nikei Alumni Association  $2500-3000  12 For students of Japanese ancestry who will attend UW. Applications available in counseling office.
    4/29/18 Pointe Pest Control $750 12 No Essay or Transcript. "For this scholarship, do something good for someone else and include a note telling them to pass it on. Bonus points are awarded for including pictures. We want to hear what good deed you did to help your community."
