A Midsummer Night’s Dream

BPA Playmakers Presents Midsummer Nights Dream Poster with dates of performances

May 12, 13, 14 and 19, 20, 21 at 7:30pm

This beloved comedy written by William Shakespeare c. 1595 or 1596 is set in Athens, and consists of several subplots that revolve around a duke named Theseus as he prepares to marry Hippolyta, queen of the Amazons.

Meanwhile a misunderstanding breaks out amongst four young lovers.

Another follows a group of six amateur actors rehearsing the play which they are to perform before the wedding.

Both groups find themselves in a forest inhabited by a watchful group of mischievous fairies who manipulate the humans and are engaged in their own domestic intrigue.

The play is one of Shakespeare’s most popular and is widely performed.

Come enjoy this play about love, marriage, transformation, and the importance of accepting people for who they are!

Set in the DISCO era, this will not be the boring old Shakespeare you think it will be!

The cast features 22 BHS students and is directed by Shawn Riley.
