    WIAA Modifies 2020-21 Sports Season Calendar

    NEW! Aug 3 | The WIAA Executive Board took action to modify the sports season calendar. This creates four WIAA-sanctioned seasons and moves moderate and high risk team sports, to the WIAA Season 3.

    PHYSICALS

    Physicals must be good through THE END OF THE WIAA SPORTS SEASON (See Athletics Overview)Physicals must be current from the first day of tryouts/practices until the day after the State Playoffs. Physical expiration dates to view are located on students Source Accounts.

    Middle school physicals do not transfer to HS as paperwork is collected annually to ensure student-athlete info is current. Late paperwork may limit participation for tryouts. Fines & ASB Fees must be paid via School Pay on the parent/guardian Source account to be eligible for Fall sports.

    Did You Know...

    You can submit your paperwork packet electronically by sending PDF versions of your completed packet to our athletics secretary, Rayna Bauer, at RCBauer@SeattleSchools.org with "Sports packet" in the subject line.

    Annual $35 ASB Activity Fee MUST be paid before turning in athletic paperwork. Please bring your Student ID with a current ASB sticker with you when turning in paperwork. You can pay online via SchoolPay on the Source menu.

    Sports Physicals are required prior to tryouts and the first practice. Physicals are valid for 24 months from the “exam date” on the Physical Exam Form. Your doctor must specify in writing: Full or Limited Participation describing limits. Include the doctor’s readable stamp with signature.

    BHS Teen Health Center (BTHC) - Free Sports Physicals! Students can stop by the Teen Health Center to make an appointment for FREE sports physical or call 206-781-6400.

    Insurance is a must. Current Health Insurance is required for all athletes. Enter Insurance Info & remember to sign the form.

    Grades, 2.0 GPA in 5/6 Classes. All students must have and maintain a 2.0 GPA or greater, in 5/6 classes to participate. See the SPS Student Athletic Handbook for more details.

    Refund Policy. The ASB Activity Fee is an annual fee and is non-refundable. Contact Karen Kazanjian with any questions.

    Are you ELIGIBLE to participate? Where you live, your grades, attendance, and enrollment status could affect your eligibility to participate. If you have transferred from another school into Ballard HS this year, attend a Private School student; or live outside the Ballard HS attendance area please see Rayna Bauer Athletic Secretary or the Athletic Director Eric Ensign for additional instructions.
