DREAM BIG FINALIST Ballard High School Teacher TueD Chambers spearheading a Grant from Farmers Insurance "Thank America's Teachers". Help Ballard Win $100,000 For Improved Library Technology For The Entire Community!

The John Stanford Learning Commons at Ballard High School is a vision for a social, cultural, and technological center where students, faculty and other users can gather and work collaboratively with digital and print media under one roof. Our focus is on critical thinking, inquiry, action research, and cooperative learning.  We want to transform our 20th century model of a school library to an engaging, digitally active, collaborative hub for students, teachers, and community members. Our library will become a 21st century Learning Commons not only available for our students, but also for our entire Seattle community. There will be ready access to computer based learning systems in a physical space that is light-flled and inviting, and with furniture that can be easily rearranged in order to accommodate a number of learning and teaching styles.

TuesD Chambers is a passionate educator with over eighteen years of experience in the Seattle School District.
As the librarian and a technology leader for current and future generations at Ballard High School she evangelizes literacy and technology to promote inquiry and positive change. This shift  will provide Seattle School District students with a transformative model for future libraries and a working template to help address education, innovation, and equity needs.

Winning the $100K Grant, Ballard High School Would Become The Pilot High School For ALL Seattle Public Schools For This Forward Thinking Program!
