BHS Winter Concert Masterwork Selections | Mozart's Requiem In D Minor | Dec 2016
    Posted on 01/02/2017

The Winter Concert Masterwork this year was selections from Mozart's Requiem Mass in D minor and was performed at the end of each of the Winter Concerts.

Each year, select groups and musicians from bands, orchestras and choir combine to perform a Concert Masterwork. The Winter Concert Masterwork will be selections from Mozart’s Requiem Mass in D minor.

The Mozart Requiem is one of the most widely known and performed masterworks of all time. Commissioned in 1791 by eccentric Count Franz von Walsegg, the Requiem was one of Mozart’s final compositions before his untimely death that same year. The unfinished work was completed the following year by his student Franz Xaver Süssmayr.

Our annual masterwork collaboration will be presented at the end of each of the three winter music concerts with musicians from Concert Choir, Advanced Chorale, Chamber Orchestra, Symphonic Orchestra, and selected Wind Ensemble and Percussion members.
