    Winter Blood Drive in the Auxiliary Gym Dec 1 from 8:45am to 2:45pm (closed 10:45am to 11:30am)
    Donate blood and you will get a cookie and save 3 lives. Dec 1st in the Aux Gym.
    The community needs you! The local blood center is struggling: many blood types have reached an Emergency level.  High school donors make up 20% of their collection, so the success of the upcoming blood drive is extremely importantly.     - Are you interested in a career in actuarial science? Liberty Mutual Insurance is hosting a free Actuarial High School Outreach Day on 12/7. If you would like to attend the event at the Safeco building, please see Ms. Flanagan in the Counseling Center or email kkflanagan@seattleschools.org before 11/30.

    "Flu shots are now available in the Teen Health Center. It is free and available to all Ballard students. Stop by and talk to Annie about scheduling an appointment"

    AUDITIONS for the BHS musical DAMN YANKEES are coming up (11/28-30)! Stop by the black box (NE 224) to pick up an audition packet and sign up for a time slot. Please see Mr. Riley with any questions. Take a chance … try out!

    Service Learning Opportunities are now available in the counseling office and on the Ballard HS website. Every student needs 60 hours to graduate and 240 hours to earn the Above and Beyond Award their senior year. See Gracye Mitchell upstairs in counseling office for more details.

    Want help with a challenging assignment? Come to the library after school to work with someone who knows how to guide you along. No need to sign up in advance - just get to the library, on the video production side of the room and ask for help. Stop by Monday - Thursday

    Ballard Seniors Applying to College: 
    If you are applying to college and have questions about your application, college list, essay, FAFSA, etc. COME TO THE COMPUTER LAB IN THE LIBRARY AFTER SCHOOL ON WEDNESDAYS! Ms. Flanagan will be there to answer questions and make sure you have access to a computer to work on your applications. We will be there from 2:20-3:55. We will be doing this every Wednesday after school.  Remember 5 weeks until many colleges have their deadline on 1/1!

    The Ballard Elks Lodge awards three local girls and three local boys $1,500.00 each to be used towards college tuition. Be sure to select “Ballard Elks” during the application process. Applicants may also advance to be considered for state and National Elks scholarships. This scholarship is available to high school seniors and the deadline is November 27th, 2017.     ATHLETICS & CLUB SPORT NEWS

    Ballard Girls Lacrosse Club Informational Meeting - Nov. 29 | The Ballard Girls Lacrosse Club will be having a quick lacrosse informational meeting for all new and returning players on Wednesday, November 29 right after school in the commons (starting at about 2:30p). Meet Head Coach Suzanne Replinger as she will briefly talk about expectations and planning for the 2018 spring season. This is a players only meeting as we will conduct a parent meeting in Jan. If you are interested in playing this is the opportunity to get to know your teammates, get on our contact list and learn about the fastest growing sport in the NW. If you have any questions please contact Coach Replinger at sreplinger@gmail.com. We are a no cut club sport and welcome anyone interested. See you there!!

    Due to popular demand, the Ballard High School Gymnastics team is hosting 2 more Kids Camps!!
      | BHS Gymnastics Kids Camps for Grades K-5 will be held on the following dates at the Ballard High School gym. Tickets are $45 per date, per camper (additional campers from the same family are $40 per date). No gymnastics experience is needed!

    CLUB UPDATES/NEWS | VIEW THE COMPLETE CLUB LIST

    Native Student Club - “We meet to discuss and organize around current issues involving Indigenous communities. We will be educating ourselves on current leaders and movements in our communities including topics such as Dakota Access Pipeline, Racist use of Mascots, historical misrepresentation and systemic oppression. All students who identify as indigenous are welcome.” This student group meets alongside the Multicultural club Wednesdays at 2:30 in Mrs. Kauffman’s room, S 100.

    French Club
    : French Club meeting is finally here! Please come to S 207 Wednesday after school. 

    Do you eat lunch? Do you like games and meeting new people? Join Project Unify 2nd lunch every Monday in the Activity Center. Everyone is welcome!

    Photography club
    is every Monday starting October 2 from 3:40 to 4:40 in room SW 126. If you have your own camera, you welcome to bring it.

    The Creative Writing Club 
    meets Tuesdays after school in SW 105 to write, edit and share poetry and prose. See Mr. MacDougall if you have questions.

    FCCLA
    after school Tuesday’s in room N220 (Mrs. Lalonde’s room).   

    Do you want to be part of the fight against racism in our school, our community, and our country? Join STAR: Students & Teachers Against Racism. STAR Club meets every Wednesday during both lunches: 1stlunch in Room SW 107 and 2nd lunch in Room SW 202.
